Although it is limited for the time being, we can expect it to arrive on our devices soon. At this time, it is exclusive to the JPEG format and does not support PNG, GIF, WEB, and any other format.

The procedure is quite simple and the same as what we do in Google Drive.
Google already offers users the ability to download images and save them directly to Google Drive. But now, we can also save them directly to Google Photos, as long as they are in JPEG format.

After receiving an image in Gmail, below in the attachments section, we will have three icons, where we will have the “save to Google Photos” icon Click to save the image availability:

According to the announcement made by Google, they are gradually implementing this update and it may take up to 15 days for it to be available on all devices. It will not be exclusive in terms of availability. The company guarantees that it will reach everyone, including personal Google accounts, Google Workspace customers, G Suite Basic, as well as business customers.
